Muse ("Muse," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Goodbye, 20th Century LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Muse mobile app, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Who We Are
Muse is a fragrance-focused social platform that allows users to create profiles, rate fragrances, publish memories and reviews, create lists, follow other users, comment, and interact with fragrance-related content.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Services, and certain technical information from your device and our infrastructure.
A. Information You Provide
We may collect the following information when you use Muse:
- Email address
- Username
- Passkey-based sign-in credentials and related authentication data
- Display name
- Avatar/profile photo
- Bio and profile information
- Ratings
- Memories, reviews, lists, comments, likes, follows, shares, and other user-generated content
- Subscription and purchase information associated with your Apple in-app purchases
- Messages or reports you send to us, including support requests and moderation reports
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you use Muse, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:
- Device and app identifiers
- IP address
- Device type, operating system, app version, and language settings
- Log data
- Crash and diagnostic information
- Usage and interaction data needed to operate, secure, and improve the Services
C. Public Profile and Content Information
Some information on Muse is public by design. Depending on your settings and product functionality, other users may be able to see:
- Your profile
- Display name, username, avatar, and bio
- Ratings
- Memories/reviews
- Lists
- Followers and following
- Likes
- Public activity
Please do not post information you do not want others to see.
3. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Muse
- Create and manage user accounts
- Authenticate users using passkeys and other sign-in methods we support
- Display your profile and public content to other users
- Process purchases and subscriptions made through Apple
- Operate social features such as likes, comments, follows, shares, and lists
- Moderate content and enforce our rules
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity
- Respond to support requests and user reports
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Muse, our users, and the public
- Promote and market Muse, including using user content as described in our Terms of Service
4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract with you
- Legitimate interests, such as operating, securing, and improving Muse
- Compliance with legal obligations
- Your consent, where required by law
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information in the following circumstances:
A. Service Providers
We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us operate Muse, such as:
- Supabase for backend, database, storage, and authentication-related infrastructure
- Apple for sign-in, passkey-related authentication flows, and in-app purchases
- Infrastructure, hosting, storage, security, diagnostic, and support providers we use to run the Services
These parties may process information only on our behalf and subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.
B. Public Content
Your public profile and any content you choose to post publicly on Muse may be visible to other users and, depending on the functionality of the service, may also be viewable, copied, shared, or referenced by others.
C. Outbound Shopping Links
Muse may include outbound links to third-party retailers and websites, including fragrance sellers and marketplaces. If you click those links, you will leave Muse and be subject to that third party’s privacy policy and terms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites or services.
D. Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose information if we believe doing so is reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with applicable law, legal process, or governmental request
- Enforce our Terms or other agreements
- Detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues
- Protect the rights, property, and safety of Muse, our users, or others
E. Business Transfers
If Muse is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, reorganization, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect the security and integrity of Muse.
If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is necessary for legitimate business purposes, legal compliance, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, enforcement of our agreements, or backup/disaster recovery processes.
Public content that has been shared with others, quoted, reposted, or incorporated into platform activity may persist in limited ways after deletion.
7. Account Deletion and Your Choices
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, and Muse is intended to support account deletion from within the app.
Even after deletion, we may retain limited information where necessary for:
- Security and fraud prevention
- Abuse prevention and moderation history
- Legal compliance
- Tax, accounting, and transaction records
- Backup and disaster recovery processes
- Resolving disputes and enforcing our Terms
You may also update certain profile information inside the app.
8. Children’s Privacy
Muse is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take steps to delete that information.

9. International Users
Muse is based in the United States and may process and store information in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws in your jurisdiction.
If you use Muse from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request portability of certain information
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. No Advertising Sale or Data Brokerage
Muse does not currently serve third-party ads, engage in cross-app tracking for advertising, sell personal information, or operate as a data broker.
13. No AI Features in Muse
Muse does not offer AI-generated content features, recommendation AI, automated AI moderation, or other in-app AI functionality. Content and moderation decisions are intended to remain human-controlled.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will revise the Effective Date and may provide additional notice where required by law.
Your continued use of Muse after the revised Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy, to the extent permitted by law.
